Former Indian Cricket Captain MS Dhoni has posted his retirement through an emotional Instagram video. This news has come post many speculations on Dhoni's retirement from Indian cricket team post World Cup 2019 Semi-final defeat against New Zealand.

Neglected by selectors:

Dhoni had been dropped from all the series happened post World Cup. Former India skipper had been away from international cricket since India's exit from the World Cup after losing the semi-final clash to New Zealand. Dhoni later joined the Indian Army for two weeks and also missed the West Indies tour. He was also not selected for the T-20 matches against South Africa at home.

 Remarkable Achievements:

MS Dhoni is the only cricketer to win all the three ICC tournaments as captain. Dhoni, who is 39 years old, led India to victory in the inaugural World T-20 in his first-ever tournament as captain in 2007. He then guided India to their first World Cup title in nearly 28 years in 2011 and won the Champions Trophy in 2013. Indian cricket fans will always remember Dhoni's heroics captaincy in the World Cup in 2011.

Captain Cool & Remarkable Finisher:

Under his captaincy, Dhoni had led India in a total of 199 matches in the 50-over format, guiding the side to 110 wins and 74 defeats.

The wicket-keeper skipper had also led India in 60 Test matches and helped the team to achieve 27 wins.

Besides this, Dhoni also holds an exceptional captaincy record in the T-20 format. He had guided India to 41 wins out of the 72 matches the country played under his captaincy.

An Ideal Person:

He is an ideal to many Indians as well as foreigners for his cool temper and leadership qualities. When he started his International cricket career, he was famous because of his long hairstyle and many followed the same. International cricket will miss his presence, but his unorthodox batting style and quality captaincy will always be paramount.

How can NPAs be avoided? What went wrong?

The gross non-performing assets of the public sector and private sector banks as on September 30, 2017, were Rs 7,33,974 crore, Rs 1,02,808 crore, respectively . Few banks NPA have reached to 24% of advances. Banks are required to capital adequacy ratio of 12-14% which means in absence of Government intervention depositors have to face the brunt for any NPAs over capital adequacy ratio. Banks have been at the mercy of borrowers to make repayments. In case of default/account turning bad, banks have to approach DRTs for the resolution which may take years for judgements and there have been very few cases where banks have been able to recover money. Every day there has been news of fresh NPAs adding to the system. Why are there so many NPAs in the system? What has fundamentally gone wrong with the banks’ lending system? When banks core function is of lending, why have the banks failed to lend right and even if the decision of lending the promoter has proved wrong, why  have ...

Coronavirus: Decoding The Phenomenon of Herd Immunity

'Walk the Talk' health for all Initiative. Credit : WHO Herd immunity happens when a high percentage of the population is immune to a disease (through vaccination), making the spread of this disease from contact unlikely. Even individuals not vaccinated (such as enfants and the immuno-compromised) are offered some protection because the disease has little opportunity to spread within the community. As we know, vaccines prevent many dangerous and deadly diseases. In India, smallpox and polio have both been stamped out because of vaccination. However, there are certain groups of people who cannot get vaccinated and are vulnerable to disease: babies, pregnant women, and immuno-compromised people, such as those cancer patients who are receiving chemotherapy or organ transplants. For example, the earliest an infant can receive their first whooping cough vaccine is at two months, and the earliest a child can receive their first measles vaccine is at one year, making them vulnerable t...
